Voting Information
Your Voice Matters
This is an important community decision. As part of the general election on November 5, Jackson County voters will consider a ballot question to approve using a 1% local sales tax to help fund a new government center and law enforcement center.
This is not a vote on whether to approve the project — only how to pay for it.
Three ways to vote:
-
Jackson County residents will be able to vote early on weekdays at the Jackson County Auditor/Treasurer’s Office, starting Friday, September 20, 2024, through Monday, November 4, 2024. Voters can cast their ballot from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Extended in person voting hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3. The Auditor/Treasurer's office will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4 .
-
Requested absentee ballots will be mailed out beginning Friday, September 20, 2024. Ballots may be requested by contacting the Jackson County Auditor/Treasurer's Office or online HERE.
Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the same office from which ballot applications were requested. Absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
Registered voters in mail ballot precincts will automatically get a ballot mailed to them approximately September 27. Voters can track their absentee ballots by using the ballot tracker.
-
Residents can vote at their local polling place as part of the general election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Municipal polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. while township polls will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
